My art practice is based on developing and articulating contemporary forms of installation practice, operating loosely across media to disrupt simple processes of understanding and viewing ‘space’ and ‘object’. Through interrogating and overlapping spaces of video, object, painting and photography I work to initiate new psychological and physical experiences that draw attention to the tactile and visceral nature of the object, the context of each object and its ability to generate fantasy, space and place simultaneously. Through display and experimental manipulation of media I hope to form an accretion of implied meaning, ideally ‘setting up’ opportunities for both contemplation and alienation.
